Honestly I did not realize this was happening until today. I haven't been watching the news lately either, was there talk of this in the media?

It is a pretty boring topic though... Just not very juicy or interesting. Sure revive it and make voting more proportionate - case closed move on. All said you opened a thread without something to grab people. Your other thread on Boeing and the fighter jets really 'grabbed' people from the get go plus it is just a more juicy and interesting topic at least for me lol.. Anyway, what do you think about this?

I'd rather leave Americans out of discussions about our political system, especially our democracy lol.

I was very disappointed in Trudeau for breaking his promise on electoral reform. It was actually the reason I voted for him and I usually vote NDP. Electoral reform needs to happen, this system we have simply is not as democratic as proportional representation.

I emailed my MP and told her my thoughts. Here's a link to a website that shows what your federal MP has been up to:

LOL. It was Victoria Day weekend after all, people were tending to their BBQ's.

Some are OK, the ones that have a genuine curiosity, others...well. The ones that try to apply US labels onto our system.

There was a thread a while back where some Americans were telling us that our system was flawed since most don't get to vote for our PM directly, like they do for President in the US.

The Electoral College seemed to have slipped their mind.

It wasn't my only reason, but it was one of them. However since I'm on my way of becoming BruSan2, I'm quite cynical of all politicians, and Trudeau's unkept promise didn't surprise me.
