Just entertained two American couples for an evening and both of them have decided to arm themselves due to frequent and alarming threats in the area. One, a Vietnam vet, stated categorically he thought he would never again touch a firearm of any kind and now he's decided to arm both himself and his wife.

Oh really: over 12 million back-ground checks for gun ownership; 67% for self protection so far this year indicates a level of concern over something other than cracks in the sidewalks, wouldn't you agree? ......... What was I thinking;........ of course you wouldn't agree.
Yep; those snipers shooting from hotel windows in Vegas incidents have undergone a real decline in the last few decades as have all the school shootings and mass shootings of all types numbering almost one a day...uh, huh; we believe the decline your figures state. We sure do Sat.
Could it be the number of incidents reported of uncle Ted beating aunty Alice have declined, thereby lessening the numbers of incidents, whereas the actual types and results of the violent crimes are far, far, worse in scope.

Open you eyes and ears. Your country is deeply divided. There are people high in government that have been charged with criminal activities....not just ANY of your usual corruption, but acts that suggest that your very own federal government is possibly beholden to a foreign power. Treasonous perhaps...AT THE HIGHEST LEVEL.
That your current federal government is destroying or in the process of destroying tax breaks, programs and safeguards that people have enjoyed. Class warfare....just wait. You haven't seen anything yet.
