We're considering moving to the Halifax area - what are the best family areas in Halifax? If you go to mls.ca
mls.ca -

you'll see some options. What are the better areas for schools, etc.

Thanks!

The best ones would be Clayton Park, Bedford - most of what you see on the Bedford Highway between Fairview and Bedford itself. Timberlea and Tantallon are also very nice, but not that close to the city. Sackville is mixed, as are most of the suburbs on the Dartmouth side. They're also cheaper, but spotty.

Avoid Spryfield. People who live there say it's okay, but it's really not. If you can afford it, I highly recommend living on the Halifax Peninsula. You have to keep traffic in mind - although Hfx is not that big of a city, traffic is a ***** on the Peninsula because there are only 4 roads leading off of it (two bridges, Bayer's Road/Joe Howe Drive and the Rotary).

We are also looking to relocate to Halifax. We have 4 children and currently live in Missouri. I am interested in schools and family friendly neighborhoods. Best of luck and will follow this thread.
