Do you get a Provincial day? Like we get a civic holiday called B.C. Day on the first Monday of August. Do you get a Manitoba Day?
.
No. There is a civic holiday, the third weekend in August which used to be simply called a civic holiday but the name was changed to Terry Fox Day some years ago. Then in February there is the newest civic holiday which is called Louis Riel Day and is, I think, called Family Day in Ontario.

Big rip off for us here in Ontario is we don’t get Remember Day off...
only Ontario and Quebec don’t have it as a holiday.
I think that is a disgrace.....Quebec, I understand....but Ontario....come on...
Gosh, no Easter Monday in the US? Here is Australia much of the country will be off work all next week. Good Friday is always a public holiday as is Easter Sunday and Easter Monday. This year, with Easter so late, it almost runs into Anzac Day on Thursday, which is always a public holiday. It is also school vacation at least here in NSW, being the end of the first semester. So many people are taking Tuesday, Wednesday and Friday off and that gives them an eleven day break, including the weekends, of course.
Both my adult kids and their families are away, so that gives us a nice rest at home away from the childcare help we provide. Bliss!

It must vary by state in the US, just like provinces in Canada.
I never gave it much thought before, so I looked at BC compared to Washington State. BC gets three more stat holidays.
Now in practice, I'm sure Washington State, must have unofficial stats, like we do. Boxing Day and Easter Monday as examples?
I worked for a federally regulated company, and got Easter Monday, and Boxing Day as stats. They also recognized Mother's Day, but not Father's day. Hmmmm.

You had Mother's Day as stat? Never heard of that before.
