Have a nice day eh.
Canadians never laid claim to the vast territories the French did so it was never about Canadians and Americans, so now Quebec is the rump attachment to Canada?Puzzles me why a culture so full of itself never pulls the trigger on separating from the motherland.

Why special linguistic rights? French is a lovely language, but Montcalm, like, LOST.

And what do they "souviens" anyway? Henri Richard? Beliveau? Abbe Groulx? Truedough Sr.?

That was an idea of Lise Payette who occuped a minister post in Rene Levesque gouvernment in the late 1970s to put "Je me souviens" to replace "La Belle Province" in the plateshacks. The same Lise Payette who talked of the "Yvettes" targeting Claude Ryan's wife during the 1980 Referendum. https://www.thecanadianencyclopedia....e/lise-payette

Not people ...... the distant past. Past traditions, past losses and grievances. The motto is a promise to never forget them, never let go of them.

A way to perpetuate the "victimhood" psychology, if you will. Even for those not born of the generations with 'questionably legitimate' grievances, it's necessary to get them programmed as young as is possible.
