Here we go. The US has once again proved what they do to their friends.

The US Border Protection service does not make such decisions on their own. This order came from the White House. In normal times, a shipment leaving the US for Canada is NOT inspected. This one was stopped and put into a customs storage warehouse at the border.

I bet that this event will not be shown/talked about in US media.

No surprise there, but it's not just happening to Canada, it's happening globally. USA is pre-empting and snatching up medical supplies that were manufactured in other countries (not just in USA) and intended to be shipped to several other desperate countries.

Trump openly says that USA won't stop pre-empting all the international medical supplies meant for other countries until USA has "too much" more than what USA needs. His words .... "too much" .... I kid you not. Needless to say many other countries that are having these dirty tricks played on them now in a time of crisis are none too happy and are furiously complaining about Trump's 'Wild West' tactics.

In the eyes of the rest of the world this does not look good for USA, it makes it look bad and to many it will be seen as America making a declaration of war against them.

I see in recent reports that India has already issued a complete ban on all India exports of the medication hydroxychloroquine because there was a huge run on it by American agencies which resulted in a shortened supply of the drug for India's own people. That is the medication manufactured in India that the US president has been advising his own country's people to use against CVD-19, regardless of the fact that it's unproven against the virus, and is also a dangerous pharmaceutical that is generally prescribed with caution and isn't suitable to be used by all people.

If this behaviour continues I think it will not be long before many other countries follow suit and start banning exports of other essential needs.

.

That's a good point. I tried to look it up and only found this:

Canada has abundant supplies of oil, gas, and uranium.

US has all of those but it's cheaper to import some things from Canada. The United States is capable of manufacturing almost all of its imports.

Right now the US has far more COVID cases than Canada so it's not surprising that Trump is trying to put the people who vote for him first.

As of April 6, there are 15,790 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Canada.

US Total cases: 304,826

I think Trudeau said they were getting more maks form China. Are there any Canadian companies making masks?
