Well, the Conservative Party voted in Erin O'Toole as the new leader they hope to beat Justin Trudeau. I was just curious what everyone's thoughts were here on that? Also, what political party do you typically vote for?

Out West, there were a lot of pissed of people on the options for leader in general. A lot of members abstained from voting. Leslyn Lewis actually won the most overall votes in the West but I know a lot of members who said it was really a protest vote against O'Toole and MacKay. Not many out here will accept an Ontario leader. With so many better options for leader, such as Polivere or Rempel or Raitt, a lot of people are upset they got stuck voting for one of 4 mediocre options.

I am a member of Wexit Party. And we have a lot of members who are traditionally Conservative members who after this leadership, are now solidly in support of Wexit. I suspect that to make inroads into Ontario where the election is won or lost, O'Toole will have to say some things and make some policy decisions which will cause a big drop in support in the West.

I haven't made up my mind about him yet. He wasn't my choice for leader. I threw my vote to Derek Sloan even though I knew he didn't stand a chance. Sloan's policies were more in line with my way of thinking. I was glad MacKay lost - he'd just be another Trudeau in a blue suit.

My only hope is that he will be an improvement as leader of the opposition over Sheer. I usually vote Green but will be marking an x in the local Liberal candidate this time around.
