Don't know what Perkin's is, but I find the opposite. I wonder if it's regional. The pancakes at IHOP and Denny's, here seem better quality. The ones I've had on the road in the US seemed lighter, the egg yolk colour is pale etc.
I totally admit my "thing" when it comes to that is all in my head!
I don't understand what's so great about Krispy Kreme. We've got a few stores here, and they're available at most grocery stores, Target, etc.
Not a huge doughnut fan, but I would LOVE a good, old fashioned, plain doughnut from a great Italian bakery in my hometown of Hamilton called Sweet Paradise. Their doughnuts are divine. BruSan, if you live in KW, they're worth the drive to Hamilton. Promise!
Yeah once I tried donuts from an Italian bakery I never bought a donut from a chain donut shop again. There is all kinds of good stuff in there. Donuts, lobster tails etc. So good.
Actually there are 3 in Montreal. One in Côte-des-Neiges, one in the city centre on Ste-Catherine, and one in Greenfield Park on the South Shore.
I didn't scroll down far enough.
