Congratulations to Mary Simon on her appointment as Canada's first indigenous Governor General. I think the Prime Minister and the Queen made a good choice for GG at this time.

I am dismayed at some comments I have read that cast doubts on her desire to serve all Canadians given her work to improve conditions for those from the north. Also her not being fluent in French seems to really upset some folk
