death and destruction. It is more effective than simpler options at doing it faster. I'm perfectly fine with weapons like this being banned in my country.

BUT, to the point of Canada being called a nanny police state by some Americans with nowhere near the governmental policing agencies the U.S. has, nowhere near the per-capita incarceration rate, nowhere near the governmental confiscation of personal assets without proof or prosecution of any crime, why would anyone propose Canada fitting the description while not using an inward look at their own country?

In that context one must consider the possibility that IF Canada is becoming a police state; that too is a problem generated by the influence of having to sleep with an elephant.
If gun laws and gun restrictions lead to a measurable decrease in gun death and gun violence than i'm all in. Call me a nanny/police lover then - i'm good with that.

It is nuts, but not unusual.

Since there were two larger mass shooting, the media will focus more on all of them for a bit.

10 mass shootings that happen during a time when there is no major mass shooting are not uncommon when you have over 200 mass shooting SO FAR in the US this year. That's about 33 per month.

https://www.washingtonpost.com/natio...tings-in-2022/

But, hey, according to some US posters, the US doesn't have a gun problem.

Few claim the US has no gun problem cause hood rats (as some calm them) and those seeking guns can get all they want on a black market. Just in fixing it we ... split sadly politically.

When has US cities not had a gang/mafia issue in big cities. Mafia era, era NYC had 2000 homicides. Chicago its Al Capone era and the Nation it radical 1960s. You in Canada still loved America or could not escape it. Even Australia. Still resenting and now this feeling superior and a gentler and more civil Nation. Still has us Just attached at more than the hip.

It may erode. Still never be may erode. It never will be severed. One Continent is not debated. Joined by Mexico even if some are not wanting it.

When this Conservative truckers thing occured in Canada. Americans were in disbelief. It was not in the US to the scope it was in Canada and failed. The US try was weak. Yet all were surprised Canada had such a thing siding with the US Trumpist side. So again.... joined at more than the hip even without the Hispanic immigration the US has millions there illegally.

No country gets to decide the educated status of illegal immigrants? And with the right wing crowd guns cannot even be mentioned in a discussion about gun deaths.
You have totally ignored refugees and makecclaims about the children f US immigrants. Canada too has msny low educated second generation citizens, example the boat people not know for being wealthy and from Hati, anorher less than wealthy country.

Yoy have excluded all black in black, brown on brown and I guess First Nations on First Nations murders in Canada for no apparent readon but thefact remains the murder ratevoer capita iscaboutvthree times higher in the States than in Canada and you refuse to accept that the greater number of guns can have anything to do with it.
You claim 22% of murders in the States is onevracevupin themselves butbthen you come out and claim that the US had 4.96 murders per hundred thousand but to bevthe same rate as here the rate not couunting those races is only 1.96 in other words those three races have a huge murder rate probably closer to fives the rate for the country. I would love to see your sources.

In response, to other questions....Canada's culture COME FROM a Corporate culture, The USA comes from a "up yours" culture.

It really does explain the differences between the two countries....BTW....that observation came from a Canadian on cultural difference between the USA and Canada.

Canada's culture comes from a Corporate Culture? Can you elaborate? Please elaborate on the "up yours" nature on U.S culture as well. The statement you made about cultural roots in both countries is something i'm not at all familiar with, and never heard before until you typed your words here.

There are many opinions on where Canadian culture comes from besides the one you state. Some historiian has stated that much of our culture rise out of the Metis culture based on compromise and group sharing. To me that sounds more like it than coperate culture. No all Canadians think alike.

No sure what this has to do with Canadian gun laws.
