Bar chart showing the approval rating of each Premier in March 2024: https://angusreid.org/premier-approval-march-2024/

- Manitoba’s Kinew performed the best at 62% but is still in his honeymoon period after the election last October.

- Saskatchewan’s Scott Moe and BC’s David Eby look strong headed into provincial elections this year. Worst performer, NB’s Higgs at 31%, also faces an election this year.

- Ontario’s Ford and and Quebec’s Legault enjoy the approval of only 1/3 of their residents.

- Alberta’s Smith is holding steady at 47%

Happy to hear for Mr Kinew. His life story is fascinating and a true story of redemption and progress. The NDP’s provincial parties are doing well in BC and Manitoba it seems. Hopefully this will push for more social democratic type policies at the federal level and maybe in other provinces.
Looking forward to seeing Higgs voted out hopefully. He started this whole Americanized wave of anti trans movements in this country. That’s just my opinion, don’t wanna debate it here, we can discuss it in the other thread.
Not surprised about Doug Ford. He’s really done such a poor job with healthcare mismanagement. It’s unfortunate Trudeau gets blamed for that while it seems only the shady back door deals with developers has swayed provincial voters

He comes from a privileged upper middle class family, he was charged with assaulting a man and yelling racial slurs while doing so. He has been arrested for drunk driving and accused of domestic abuse. He denies the charges but has rap lyrics about slapping women. I guess you can call that fascinating.
