Yeah, the Japanese maples are gorgeous, aren't they? I went to Butchart Gardens for the first time a month ago and the colours were just starting to turn.

Very nice pictures ....I've always wanted to see but haven't had chance yet

Nice mild climate ....best in Canada ...zone 8b
There are a few areas with micro climates nearby that are zone 9a
some of the Gulf Islands and southern tip of Vancouver Island
Oak Bay area and the "west coast" Tofino area
