At least 90% of Canada's population exists in this narrow strip.

You can find Canada's population distribution maps by typing "population distribution Canada" into a Google Image search. I quite like Stats Canada's population density map as it gives a more accurate depiction of how Canada's population is spread out across the country:

Alberta is really the northernmost province, if not the coldest (that would be Manitoba!)

I think the coldest province might be Quebec. I know Winnipeg is colder than Quebec City and Montreal but Quebec goes really far north!
