In terms of parks, public libraries, culture, shopping, outdoor recreation, urban life, racial diversity, and people. I'm also considering TO but don't feel like living there unless I absolutely have to. Winnipeg is also an option.

As far as parks go, the river valley's really nice.

Choosing between Saskatoon and Toronto is like choosing between Fargo and Chicago.

Hi there. I grew up in Saskatoon and now live in Toronto. It really depends what you are looking for. I am glad that I have lived in Toronto in my 20's for the urban lifestyle (tons of restaurants, clubs, sports, etc), but now I am ready to move back to Saskatoon now that I am in my 30's. I find that the pace of life in Toronto is too extreme (every one is always rushing around); I like the laid back lifesyle in Sask better....less stress.

That being said I think that the size of Saskatoon allows you to have access to a good amount of variety of amenities (shopping options are good), and things to do. I love that it only takes 10 minutes to drive most places, 20 max. In toronto it can take over and hour just to get out of the city, and the suburbs.

I love that Saskatoon is so close to nature...lots of great trails, cabin country, and a beautiful river. Great people too....very friendly to strangers which you don't see as much out in Toronto. I found it much easier to make friends in Saskatoon. People are just more down to earth, less superficial.

The one downside is that winters are much colder in Saskatoon, but it is usually sunny! I think that keeps it a smaller city which is why it has a lot to offer in terms of lifestyle. A great place to raise a family becuase it doesn't cost as much as bigger cities.
