A friend of mine says that once cancer hits your bones, the chances of getting rid of it is almost zero......unlike just about all other cancers....
has anyone seen any stories of recovery from bone cancer? Not heard of, seen.....
Are you talking about metastatic cancer to bone or primary tumors of bone?
Breast, Lung and Prostate cancers commonly metastasize to bone and by definition when cancer metastasizes to distant organs like bone it is Stage III or IV, the higher the stage of any cancer the poorer the prognosis.
Once any cancer has metastasized there is no longer any chance of local control/cure via surgery to remove the primary tumor. Options for treatment of the metastases are limited to radiation and chemotherapy.
My husband died from it. Started in his prostate, took 11 years to metastasize to his bones, he was stage IV. Died 8 weeks after final diagnosis, there was no hope for him.
