first of all are you talking about cervical cancer or cancer of the D&C in Nov and now there is a cancer, it obviously in very new. No one can tell you how long a person can live, but I can pretty much assure you, getting treatment, at this stage, you should be alive and kicking up a storm for many years. I was diagnosed with cervical cancer when I was only 25. Here I am 50 years later, still raising HELL.

Now that I have read the rest of the thread: I see you had the hysterectomy. That is exactly what I had, and no radiation or chemo. Uterine cancer is so different from ovarian cancer. I don't think some people realize this...Keep healthy and thanks for the update...

I had surgery just over a year ago with uterine cancer. I had bleeding for a long time, then had a few endometrial biopsies, and then a D&C. It was after the D&C that they discovered the uterine cancer. It was a few months before I had surgery because I was referred to a gynecological oncologist. They told me they could not tell me what stage I was at, or if it had spread until the complete hysterectomy was done. In just over a year ago I had the hysterectomy and they told me that it had not spread and that I would not require any further treatment. What did you find out after your surgery? What stage are you? Many women do not need further treatment. Were you told that you needed radiation or chemo? I know if I had required either or both of those it would be pretty traumatic, but I would have done it to try to save my life.

Kate, good to hear your news. Don't be a stranger, we're all survivors here and hanging on to one another.

We like having the survivors hanging around. Helping others going through cancer is one reason why I frequent this forum. We can all add something to those facing that journery.

I was diagnosed with Endometrial Cancer a while back and decided against treatment. Many people judge me because of my decision however, I have my reasons for deciding against treatment, which runs much deeper than you might think, but I will not recommend it. GO FOR TREATMENT

So did you get no treatment at all, not even a hysterectomy?

and we know what so many have gone through, as long as people are here to help each other and not wallow in their own pity this is one of the best threads on City Data. all of us have been through our ups and downs, whether it is ourselves or our loved ones, we do understand not everything turns out rosey, but having people to talk to, whether you know them personally or not does help...

Thanks for posting and good luck to you. Everyone has to make decisions based on their own reasons and none of us are here to question or be judgemental...

Last month, I had an ultrasound which resulted in them detecting abnormal thickening of the uterine lining. I haven't had any menstrual periods since last March (2012), but this past February I started to have spotting off and on at weekly or two week intervals. They'd last only a day or half a day. That's why I was sent for the ultrasound. This past Monday, the gynecologist catheterized my uterus (in the office) - it REALLY hurt - and sent the blood and tissue to the hospital for a biopsy. She's really concerned about the thickened tissue and bleeding. I had a little spotting for the rest of the day, then it stopped over Tuesday and Wednesday. Yesterday, though. I started to pass a lot of blood and had a lot of cramping. I don't know if this is normal after the catheterization, but I see the doctor this morning for the tests results.
