UPDATE: Hubby's Colon Resection and Splenectomy went very well...We finally got Biopsy's back and CANCER FREE it did not effect any lymph nodes and Surgeon got it all!! No Treatment Necessary..

Yes both our kids swam comeptitively in Florida when we lived there and now we will be heading back there and just bought a house Our Son started 9th grade of HS and swam for HS and Club our daughter swam Club for a few years and decided she hated it...then swam for her HS here for a year and well really decided it wasn't something she wanted to do lol
Yes a big Relief but again he will have to go every 3-6 months for a while for a colonoscopy and hope that it doesnt come back or go somewhere else...Its always in the back of the mind
It will linger in the back of your mind for a while. It's part of the process. Wish I could offer something more than "that's normal." It is a reality of survalance.
Excellent news! I would view this very positively and feel grateful the cancer was found so early.
(This story has a happy ending). Both of my grandparents died of colon cancer before 1955 - in the dark ages of treatment. Therefore my dad went for colonoscopies when they were not common - clunkier equipment and done without anesthesia. It was difficult but he persisted. He did develop colon cancer in his 50s, had surgery and lived to a hale and hearty 95.
When my siblings and I were in our 40s, one year my dad said all he wanted for Christmas was for us to have colonoscopies - joy joy! We did and still do every 5 years due to family history.
I am very happy for you and your family and keep in mind that colon cancer is slow growing and preventable by removing those polyps which may cause a problem. I am grateful that the procedure is much less painful than what my dad went through, but it did save his life.
Such good news. So happy to hear that your husband's surgery went well. Best wishes to both of you as he continues to recover. Also, welcome back to Florida. (I'm in Sarasota!)
ty everyone you guys are awesome...Oncologist was very pleased with results and told him as long as he keeps himself healthy and goes for his colonoscopy he should be just fine
