If there is anywhere else i could post this question for advice, please feel free to tell me. Thanks
My friends mom (shes in her 30’s) has a brain tumor that they are afraid may be in the process of becoming malignant. Her headaches are worse then they have ever been, and she can barely drive due to the lights from the cars making her head throb too much.
They don’t have alot of money and they have no insurance, therefore not planning on taking her to the doctor due to how much it would probably be.
Is there any way they can go about this? Is there any other option for them? How can they help her? where could they take her? Any advice is very appreciated. I really don’t want them to have to just let nature take its course without being able to do anything.
She needs to talk to a public health agency where she lives and also find out how to qualify for assistance through Medicaid. They may also know of low or no cost treatment programs or clinical trials she could participate in. Who diagnosed her cancer? They may also know of clinical trials she could be accepted into.
How can a brain tumor "in the process of becoming malignant"? A scan would never provide enough information to make such a decision, and brain tumors are not like colon polyps, which can indeed be pre-cancerous.
In the early 20th century there were many clinics advocating fasting. These often had people who had been on conventional treatments but they had been sent home as nothing more could be done for them. These clinics had some successes with their treatments which ranged from various lengths of water-only fasts to some with various types of food - all patients were monitored by doctors of course. These clinics are mostly closed now.
If there is no possibility of treatment, then this kind of fasting might be an option. After all, animals stop eating when they get sick hoping that their body will be able to remedy the situation. If a body produces cancer, then presumably it can also remove it too if it is given enough support and if the causes are removed.
From the books I have read about fasting, it can do some pretty serious body cleansing and can improve the immune system too.
Surely you're kidding? Sure, fasting can get rid of cancer, since fasting for a terminally ill person will hasten death, which kills the cancer too! Unfortunately, I don't think most folks want to die faster in order to kill cancer.
OP, where do you live? Where is the nearest medical school? They should have a hospital associated with it that takes charity patients. Not all hospitals are for-profit, and the ones that aren't set aside some money to care for indigent patients.
Another option for her to check out is applying for Social Security disability and for SSI disability. If she qualifies for Social Security, she would eventually get Medicare. If she qualifies for SSI, she would get Medicaid any month she qualified for $1 or more of SSI. Some people qualify for both Social Security and SSI, if their income and resources don’t knock them off SSI.
