I'm interested in hearing from anyone who has negotiated a Diminished Value claim due to a motor vehicle accident where the other party was at fault. Specifically I'm interested in how you determined the diminished value, whether you utilized a professional appraiser, who they were and whether you had a positive experience.

Bascailly its like civil court where the person is responsible to repair teh dange and nothig else unless their was injury. Even your own insurnce only covers this.

I was rear ended and the at fault parties insurance company had my vehicle repaired. I had the repairing body shop give me a before accident and after accident appraisal of the vehicle. I than paid a second body shop $100.00 for a before and after appraisal. I submitted the information to the at fault parties insurance company. I received a check for $2300 about 3 weeks later. Pretty easy process once you are firm about it.
