I seem to read a lot of bad things but it seems like a large amount of the stuff I do read has to be agents complaining how they don't like working for Farmers or Farmers screws them over or something, rather then customers being unhappy with their service.

And I've heard people talk about their rates being expensive but I'm a 23 year old male without a clean driving record, and they have similar rates to Geico (for me) and cheaper rates then Progressive, Allstate, State Farm, Liberty Mutual, Amica and Country Financial for me. And kind of one of the general complaints i've seen from supposedly agents posting online is their rates aren't very competitive and whatever market they're in they have a hard time selling policies because of it.

That is the chorus of salesmen everywhere. "the territory is tough because we're too expensive/We don't get paid enough commission/etc..."

None of that is Really your problem. You need to find out what their claim service is like.
