I just got my insurance rates cut in half after switching from
Geico to State Farm and I’ve run into some bad luck (I take all blame) lately.

I live in Oregon. About 8 months ago in CA on my way home I was pulled over for going 10pm over speed limit. It was my first ticket in 15 ish years so I took traffic school so it would not be reported.

A few weeks ago in Oregon I was going through Downtown in a 30mph zone and I was unaware that for 2 blocks the speed limit dropped to 20 miles an hour. I was flashed by an automated camera system at 31MPH. According to what I read the camera only flashes at 11mph or more over speed limit so I’m unsure if that is even worth trying to fight.

Anyways will I be able to do traffic school again since it’s in Oregon now? From What I understand traffic school is just a money maker for the states to not report to your insurance. My ticket in CA doubled after I took traffic school. So I wouldn’t be surprised if Oregon would let me do traffic school as well so they can just double their revenue on the ticket.

Bottom line I’d really really not like my insurance to go up, and yes I know the answer is slow down.

I got my rate cut from $75 to $33 somehow after switching carriers with the same coverage and I feel like it’s going to go up to $200 a month after all the horror stories I’ve read online and on this board.

Clerk told me since my driving record showed clear I could do traffic school again in Oregon to dismiss the ticket.
