I'm going to take her to a nearby animal hospital tomorrow where they have vets on call 24 hours a day, but in the meantime, does anyone have any words of wisdom? I'm really worried about her. She's about 7 or 8 years old (I got her as a rescue cat from the local animal shelter five years ago, so her exact age is uncertain).

I can't think of anything that would have caused this; I'm not giving her different food. Poor thing; last time she tried to go, nothing came out. I feel so bad. This is my tabby named Jasime who sleeps on my bed next to my head, and the one who hides under the bed while I'm at work and only comes out when I get home.

Aw, poor little Jasmine. Is she peeing okay?

Sometimes unpassed hairballs can cause some bad trouble.

Do you have house plants?

How is she acting other than the vomiting and diarrhea?

My only advice is to not give her anything else to eat, until she has seen the vet. Don't want to cause any more vomiting. Keep her purring as much as possibble. I believe in the therapeutic power of purr.

I'll be watching for an update on your beloved girlie.

She may have gotten into something you're not aware of, either a plant or maybe something in the garbage... does she ever go outside? I'm sure the vet will figure out what's wrong, but hopefully it's nothing serious! To ease your mind a bit, I've dealt with the same symptoms more than once, and the pets in question were all fine in a day or two.

Could even be a simple virus, like the stomach flu my dog had last year - he was vomiting for HOURS, to the point where only foam was coming out. A $300 vet visit and two days of rest later, he was back to his old self. Keep us updated on little Jasmine!

Hmm, it could be a hairball, that's true. I try to brush her as much as possible, but she'll only let me do so much!

No house plants, but thanks for giving me another suggestion. And no, she never goes outside. She's scared of the great outdoors; it's a miracle if she ventures more than two feet from the apartment door!

She seems to be resting comfortably at the moment, so that's good. It's just odd. My other cat, Ariel, hasn't had any problems at all. Then again, Ariel is short-haired and Jasmine is all furry. I'd post a photo, but I can't remember my Photobucket password.

My advice is to keep her warm and kept close to you....give her lots of love. This may be just a passing thing and will clear up on its own. If she begins to eat on her own, you will know she is feeling better.

Please keep us updated... (((HUGS)))

I decided not to take her to the vet just yet... She's behaving normally (eating and drinking), so maybe this will pass on its own with no treatment. If this is still an issue tomorrow, then I will take her in. Thanks, everyone, for your kind thoughts!

Oh I'm so glad to hear she is doing better today! All paws crossed that whatever it is has worked it's way through by now.
