My Cat Zelda does things to get me to give her food and treats. Everyone says she is spoiled even though they all love her. I am not sure if I am a bad Mom. For example, I am trying to color my hair and she is meowing and meowing for me to come and give her a treat and play with her. I keep telling her I will be there in a few minute. Then there are times when she lies on her blanket and looks mournful and sad when I am on the computer or reading and not playing with her right after dinner. That is her specified play time always. I always end up giving in and playing right away, even though we have time! Then..if I am taking a shower, she always, always meows for some odd reason!!. She also is very smart and knows where the treats are and jumps on the counter and opens the doors to the cabinets. If I try to not give her a treat one night,, she will walk around looking for them and staring at me etc. If I am eating a treat, she comes and lies on my lap and purrs!! She is a mess! What say you kitty lovers??

You HAVE to spoil them. You HAVE to give them all the treats their little hearts desire.

Or they'll poop in the middle of your bed.

Agreed! One MUST spoil cats. It is one of their unwritten laws! If you don't spoil them.....

they will raise their dignified tail and spray your legs!

Who was it that wrote: Cats were once worshiped as gods and they do not let us forget this fact.

Kipling maybe?

Mine are spoiled... they all hate each other but at night, they have their game fine tuned...

They all go in the kitchen to wait, all but Boo, this is Boo's job (while they wait for Boo to do her job.)

I think you're an excellent kitty mom! Cooper is the same way, he follows me around everywhere meowing and purring. Lately I can't even go in the kitchen without giving him a treat, god forbid I want to fix MYSELF something to eat

It's always treat time at our house ... Sometimes they don't even have to ask. I guess that means I'm trained?

Our cats are spoiled, too. We started out not allowing them into our bedroom because of my allergies, but dang if they aren't so cute and cuddly and warm in bed with us! They have fluffy blankets to sleep on in just about every room of the house, and toys enough for two dozen cats. *sigh*

Just look to the adage and you will know if your cat is spoiled:

Dogs have owners.
Cats have staff.
