This is an excellent idea! My cats LOVE drinking from the sink, and I get after my husband for turning the water on for them. Our water bill is high enough! This might just solve my problem.
My cat stays in the toilet.
I always say one day he's going to end up drinking something he won't like.
I can't feed him wet cat food, it gives him diarrhea.
That's what happens with my cat. I feed him Hill's Prescription c/d dry food which I get from my veterinarian's office. He actually prefers it to anything else! He's 16 years old and doing fine.

Yeah, mine is 7 months. He's too healthy, in fact he doesn't have to go to the vet for a checkup for another year.
He's pretty big for his age for his age though. My last cat who was in her 20s (yes, years) was about as big at that age as he is at 7 months. He's going to be fat too, his little belly is already sagging towards the floor when he walks.
I just go to Petco to his food. It must be a premium brand because I've been hard pressed to find it in Targets or Wal-Marts like 9-Lives, Friskies, Purina, etc.
It sounds like you need to restrict his food intake. My cat used to make himself sick if I gave him too much because he'd eat all of it as fast as he could and not be able to hold it down. I learned not to give him too much at a time after stepping in the mess a few times. He probably won't be fat if he doesn't get too much.
Trying that food, Chicken Soup for the Cat Lovers Soul. I called the company and they sent me some samples. Kitty seems to like it.
