Heidi, Never once have I said " I "need more time " with a sick cat. It is the cat's life, not yours. This is all about the cat, not you! For heaven's sake. The cat's comfort and needs come way, way ahead of the caretaker's needs (emotional, I mean). We are there for our cats and I am hoping you don't put your "need" ahead of your cat's need.
I know I sound really critical, but it upset me the way you wrote that. The printed word however can be misleading and if you don't put yourself and your emotional needs ahead of your cat's, I apologize.
But to say: "I will let go when I need to" greatly alarms me. It's not nice to say or even want that. It's always, always the cat's needs, not yours!!
I totally agree with you that the cats' well being must come first. But I read the posters comment "I'll let go when I need to" differently. I took it to mean that she will let go when that time comes.

I see. My bad. I feel sorry for her losing her beloved cat.

Yeah, like you said, sometimes the printed word doesn't come across like you want. Wouldn't be the first I misunderstood something either.
Anyway, I think her cat is still with her if I understood correctly.

First ask your doc what kind of Lymphoma is it ? if the diagnosis is small -cell lymphoma then it is treatable. Chemotherapy is the last option if the other methods have failed to cure the cat. if lymphoma is isolated in single lymph nod then surgery is the best option. I think the same is the case with your cat.
feeling sorry for your cat and hope she will be well soon.
So what was the end result? I have a sick cat with intestinal lymphoma. Thanks for the info! God bless you and your cat.
