Also I was surprised you're giving her Singulair, my son takes that but we've got insurance to cover the cost...isn't that a rather expensive medication otherwise?

Poor Rosie and poor you! So frustrating to go through all of that. I hope you get answers and a good solution one of these days...hopefully sooner rather than later!
Yup I did.. whats weird is I have really wondered about that, but I think the Vet convinced me into thinking it was a polyps.. And Nope the specialist never said anything.. all I was told was everything was OK with her..to basically carry on ..guess that's why I didn't think much of it. And of course they were trying everything under the sun to figure out what else it could be. Makes me feel kind of like a bad mom specially if that could really be the issue. I just feel there is something else they aren't looking at.

The Singular yes is costly $70, but with discounts at walgreens I didn't have to pay but $30 for it..but was worth a try..even though it didn't work. She is no longer on this.

Thanks me too...YES Very Frustrating.. I do believe I am going to have them do an MRI on her in couple months in hopes that finds something.. that's least expensive compared to a scope, plus I do not know if they can even sedate her due to she is high risk..duno if they could do the MRI either. But If we do the MRI and doesn't find anything then we are done with running test on her.. just let her live out her life in peace.. and just continue getting the monthly steroid shots and antibiotics if needed.. I can't keep putting her through this.

Thanks for the update, let us know how it goes, I know you will of course, but can't help saying it. I guess this means there hasn't been any improvement. What a fighter your baby girl is.

Ok... just an update.. I took Rosie in to see the specialist and of course they have to run all sorts of blood work and xrays first which all these were done at her regular vet.. Had to wait a few days for them to come back and say.. all bloodwork is negative so now they want to finally do the scope... So taking her in next friday for the scope.. so she will first sedate her then look down her throat to see if she has a throat polyps if so she does the scope...if not they will do a bone structure xray to look at her head and see if theres any obstruction (such as broken bones) causing her breathing problems and possibly do the scope after... Ugh I told her over the phone just do it and get it done so she doesn't have to keep going through more crap! I just hope she does OK under the sedation because I will be very pissed if something happens to her after all this money we've poured into her.. and this doctor has already been told this.. I understand the risk but will not tolerate a doctor who doesn't care and is only doing this for the money!! Sorry for the rant but just frustrated with these doctors..not too mention the money this specialist is costing us.. Vets are ridiculously overpricing people!

Thanks for the update. I understand your frustration, and would be feeling the same way, especially about the scope, why don't they just DO it for crying out loud!

It's good that you speak up and let them know you are on top of things, not just following along.

All paws crossed for your Rosie, that these latest tests bring answers and a way to give her relief.

Update on Rosie...

Great News!... We took Rosie in last Friday for them to do the scope and xrays of her head and they did not have to do either... The doctor looked down her throat and seen that she did have a throat Polyps that's connected to her ear so she went ahead and removed it. And of course the polyps was sent off to see if it was a tumor but dr thinks it was not shes pretty sure it will be clear of any types of cancer. Rosie is breathing so much better today, her sinuses are still a lil clogged up but dr says this is normal and she should clear up within a week or so.. We do know she has a 50% chance that the polyps can grow back, If it does she has to go in for surgery. So hoping it doesn't come back! I am a happy mom! And I do believe she is a happy kitty..
