IlonaG: I don't think I can improve on the previous post. I share Yzette's feelings exactly. Kudos to you for being such a great cat person. The fact that Pinky started purring when he saw you is proof.

Hi All!! Guess What?? My Pinky Boy comes home tomorrow! I am both excited and nervous at the same time. Wondering how he'll get around and how long it will take him to become accustomed to having only 3 legs. I'm already worrying about bringing him back to have his stitches removed in a few weeks. See? I worry about every little thing.
Anyway, I was also happy to find out that his IV was removed today (that was delivering the continual pain meds). They tell me that he ate very well today and is moving about in his cage. I'm glad I decided to take the day off tomorrow. Thank you all again for your prayers and good wishes. I feel confident now that we'll get through this together {{{hugs}}}

Hooray for Pinky. He'll probably adjust more quickly than you will! Give him a pet for me when you get him home.

I want to thank all of you once again for your support and understanding.
I also wanted to give a brief update. Pinky is healing well (with the exception of a mild seroma at one of the incision sites). And it's pretty amazing watching him run around on 3 legs with only minimal trouble-mainly just getting up and down from chairs and such - despite my having created 'steps' for him with various size boxes.
He is STILL wearing a cone/e-collar and they had to give him a larger one because he was able to reach the incision on the lower part of his belly (it's the one with the seroma). But luckily there is no infection or swelling. I just have to use Bacitracin 2x a day. He goes back on Sunday (12/4) for another follow up. I cannot wait for him to be able to be without that collar. He keeps me awake during the night trying to remove the thing with both paws LOL. All this goes on our bed in between me and hubby.
Anyway, I feel confident now that he will continue to improve and I look forward to the time when his fur grows back and he's able to get around almost as good as when he had 4 legs.
Thanks again!!
