For the last couple days I felt my cat wasn't feeling well. She sleeps alot, but most cats do. She hasn't been eating much - it's been hot here and I know my cats don't eat as much in the summer as they do in the winter. I was touching her, feeling around, and she has a sore spot on her right side and she tried to bite me. I know I'm going to take her to the vet. Anyone have an idea of what could be wrong with her.

It's on her front right side - below her "shoulder blade", but not in the middle of her body or below.

It could be something as simple as she jumped down wrong....and maybe twisted/cracked something. It sounds like you will probably need xrays to tell. Good luck and hopefully kitty has a good recovery!

Would that make her lose her appetite? She hasn't eaten much since Wed.

Yes. When cats are in pain usually the first thing to go is the appetite. I didn't say much else because you said you were taking her to the vet....which she should be seen pronto, like tomorrow at the latest. Aside from the fact that she is obviously hurting, if she is anorexic she can cause herself liver problems.

She's with me. She's eating a bit more ....... I'm giving her baby food. I'll get the blood and urine <sp?> tests on Tuesday. She was dehydrated, so they did a 20 minute hydration on her, so she didn't have to stay in the hospistal over the weekend. Vet could not find any sore spots on her, which is good.

Thanks so much for asking. I'll keep you updated.

Thanks again,

Paula
