About an hour later he woke up and must have been confused as to where he was (for those who might not know, JJ is blind.) So he started to howl and of course I scampered across the hall to rescue him.

It's really, really silly, but it makes me feel good that he knows he can call for help and someone will come.
That's not silly at all. Peace of mind, wherever it comes from, is to be valued. And I would feel the exact same way. I DO feel the same way, none of my cats are blind but when any of them come to me, or call to me, with a problem it relieves my mind all over again, to know that they do.

Awwww. That's not silly; it's sweet.

Jasper went outside for an hour, unsupervised. He laid on the patio, in the sun. And tapped on the door to come in. He is so smart. The rest of the day he has cuddled on the sofa with me.

DH had to get up really early to go to the flea market. While he was in the bathroom, The B*ll Sack sat in the hall on the bannister meowing, waiting for him to come out. DH fussed over him before he left, then TBS went outside. He's in the carport sitting on the roof of the car (DH took the van). Yesterday, he curled up there for hours with his feet tucked under him. I think he was waiting for DH to come back. Bertha, Molly, and the Muffster are out on their morning garden patrol. I'll probably be getting a present soon (a dead mole or shrew).

It's good that they take your nutrition seriously.

I've been working in the kitchen all morning, and the cats have been hiding. As soon as they detected a lull in activity, they came up from the basement. Now Checkers is looking for someone to nap with, as is his custom at around 11 a.m. Sorry, Charlie, I don't have time for that today ...

Sunday is laundry day at our house and this is a typical laundry day situation. For some reason the cats gravitate to the pile of whites to be washed. Gracie, on the left, is curled up in my underwear and Son's dirty socks. Haggie, on the right, is snuggled into my still wet bath towel. Excuse the crappy photo.

Oscar is very tired from helping us change the sheets on 5 beds today. Langley is too cool to play such a silly game.

I am really on the fence about this. I have let Jasper go outside. He is an indoor cat. But, he just sort of lays there, he does not go any where...yet. I let him out for an hour today. It is a backyard. Residential street traffic on one side of house.

He could get lost...I better not let him out.
He loves it...and just stays on the patio....it is okay.

Any thoughts?
