We have decided to try to give him a lovely name because poor Dirty Cat is, well, not that attractive. He could be perfectly attractive were it not for the fact that he holds his mouth funny due to a tumor growing on his gum, and teeth that are "a mess" said the low-cost, non-profit vet clinic doctor. (North Shore Animal League America, a wonderful place.)

Anyway, I happened to be watching a program about Japanese submarines in WW II and that led me to think once more about my two special, beloved friends who were here from Japan to study, and how sad that war was and how beautiful and good my friends were.

That made me think: Why not give a beautiful name to poor Dirty Cat, a poetic Japanese name?

So, I did some research and we have named him Keiko, which means "a gift from above", or a "blessed child".

Keiko is now our little guy, not Dirty Cat.
