My only concern is that they would be put off by it and not use it. Lucky, especially, is a little spooky of new things, so he might not use it. Anyone have experience with one ?
They have one with no tech that you just roll yourself.
I watched the entire video and my questions are: how long before that rubber interior bottom starts to hold odors and is it replaceable? Ha ha ha on that "litter mat" - this is designed by non-cat owners since the guy's boy cat did just what my cat would do and hopped right over that little joke mat. One more thing to clean with no real use. What stops the smell from seeping out of that drawer on the bottom? How much do the bags cost? Although, if you have $500 for a litter box, you can probably afford fancy special plastic bags.
Otherwise, it seems OK and the cats were using it.
You raise some valid questions. Looks like a lot of moving parts to go wrong over time too.
Years ago, I bought one of those ones that have a rake that travels along the pan and pushes the waste into a tray. It scared the cats so bad they wouldn't use it, and when they did it wasn't all that great.
Our fur balls are exhibionists. They even refuse a Buddha box. Maybe they enjoy my moans when I visit their 3-box line up in the morning after they played potty volley ball.
It might work with your guys, and it might not. Sort of an expensive gamble. I have no experience to relate to the item in question. But many times, things like that auto-litter box are designed by humans, for humans, with the cat left out of the loop. It might look good on paper, but in the real world....

Yes. Sadly, that's the way with many of these hideous types of litter boxes whether they are powered by electricity or the human "rolling" it. Imagine being a cat with such a sensitive nose and tiny lungs being forced to toilet in an environment that is, quite truly, covered in the cat's own pee and poop from top to bottom, not to mention the dust.
Disgusting.
It takes, what, 30 seconds, to scoop a couple of boxes, two or three times a day?
