ugh! My cat throw up a big meal, naturally on the carpet. I've tried - soap, pine-sol, lemon juice, vinager,
I've succeeded in making the spot twice as big, and it still smells!

It's been a couple of days, but I tried all these things immediatley after it happened.

help... I'm ready to toss this carpet...

Did you try Resolve?? I've used that a couple of times and it worked for me. Maybe put some Febreeze on it afterwards

When a stain is fresh, use a spray cleaner with enzymes made specifically for pet stains. Since this is dry, it my be too late for that. I have a Bissell Little Green carpet cleaner. It's small, not made for cleaning a whole carpet, but for stains. You can buy a variey of cleaners for it, including one for pet stains. It does a better job than just a spray bottle of stain remover. Before you toss a carpet, you might want to try it. They are not that expensive at Walmart. Even if it's too late for this stain, it should be handy to have in the future.

Someday someone will figure out why cats instinctively move over from a hard wood floor to gack up on a rug.

Go to your nearest Dollar store and look for a product called "Awesome" it comes in spray or a larger bottle. I have two cats, and I've used it for years. It also makes a great pre-wash spray for clothing stains.

Sorry, I left out this important fact - I am allergic to chemicals, so all commercial products are out. I meant I am looking for a home remedy. thanks anyway.

Clean the old carpet, or get a new carpet.

Then toss the cat.

Well, my mother used vinegar for dog pee stains, but you've already tried that. I still think at this point, the small carpet cleaner would be your best bet at getting it out, even if you used a vinegar/water solution. With the brush you can get down deep in the carpet and scrub, and then suck the liquid back out again.

I don't think she's going to do this. Obviously, you're not a cat lover!
