It's a bunch of garbage.

Do cats have minds of their own and opinions contracy to those of their humans? Of course. And so do dogs and other animals.

Can my cats act like jerks at times? Yes. Are they jerks? No. Do they care about the humans in the house? Yes.

It's just how this particular writer thought to spin cat behavior for a funny article. Now if you take it with the level of humor and snark intended, you can chuckle and say "Yep, my cat is a jerk."

I always like how "dog people" sometimes find cats jerky because they don't OBEY. Well. As a bit of an anti-establishment nonconformist type of person myself, I can appreciate an animal that wasn't designed for obedience. I think it gives them character.

Not all cats are alike, but I'll say this of mine... He's not always a sweet little darling. He's not always a jerk. He's basically just a cat. But it's cool...because that's all that I expect of him.

One of my cats really is a jerk. He is very smart and equally stubborn.

I've never had much respect for doormats. I think that is why he is my favorite (don't tell the others).

Yep mine do everything she said but they also greet me at the door each night after work. True, it is only to guide me to their food bowls but they at least rub on me first and maybe bring me a toy. They also know when I don't feel good and spend time by/ on me it almost makes not feeling good worth it!

Funny. In their defense I don't care to smell like a cat either so I bathe as well, even field I'd say. Also, my cats come when I call them because they know something good is going to happen, (food, petting, brushing, etc.)

They watch for me to return home from work, perching in the windows waiting but they don't run to the door, they leave that to the dog =)

Our cats are sometimes jerks to each other.

But not to us..

Until we forget that they are cats and judge them by human standards.

Then they can be real jerks.

Just like humans.
