I enjoy seeing cat pics regardless of whether they are someone's personal pet, or off the net. That said, it is nice to see pics of forum members cats that are posted about here. Puts a 'face to a name' if you know what I mean. Perhaps we all should post a pic (in Cat Pics) of our cats a bit more often (me included).
I do like NK's posts because following the links has led me to a few sites that I like & probably wouldn't have found otherwise.
Just my 2 cents FWIW.
If you like seeing pictures of cats what does it matter who they belong to? I post a lot of pictures my friends send me, I get from rescues and from other places on the web. I also get almost daily comments from people who look forward to the pictures and videos I post. They say they look forward to seeing what i find and that they brighten up their day. I see no harm in that. If you don't like seeing them just skip over them.
I'm not looking for the random web pictures to stop. I don't care about that one bit. We can all laugh about those too.
But part of the forum is interacting with people and perhaps noticing the same people are coming over and over again and in the case of the Cats forum learning about who their pets are and so forth.
There's a big difference between active forum posters introducing us to their pets and some random cat picture off the web.
In other words, it's not about liking or not cat pictures. It's the difference between "Haha too funny" and "Oh that's what such and such cat I've read here about looks like." The latter makes a much more significant connection between people.
To me it deserves a separate thread that is dedicated only to pictures of our own cats, when we choose to share them.
Once again this proves that you don't need to spend a lot of money for a good evenings' entertainment.
Just give your cat a cardboard box (the smaller the better), and enjoy the show.
My wife always said when you see a cat do that, it's 'tasting the smell'. Quite amazing the amount of information cats and other animals can process through scent.
