Neptune loves it. With Toby it really depends on his mood. Most of the time he kicks my hand away. Other times he tolerates it and once in a while he seems to enjoy it.

Only 2 of my 5 will allow it at all, and only the upper part around the front legs. If I get too close to the back legs I get a warning to stop. Out of all the cats that's owned me over 25+ years, none of them would allow a full belly rub. I've learned that cats are very good at making you think they want a belly rub, but in reality they are testing you to see if you are really as dumb as they think you are.

I love this thread I had a cat who was part dog/part maine coone and adored the belly rub! When we got home he would flop to the floor and throw his paws to the sky! He was all about the belly rubs. The cat I have now doesn't mind them... when he wants them, in the spot he wants, for the precise amount of seconds he wants it... but then you're going to get chewed on lol

No other cats I've had or know of will even tolerate anything close to a belly rub so I thought these 2 were just oddballs

He doesn't swat me like Cleo did but he doesn't seem to love it either.

Now Renly is an odd cat in several ways, so I'm wondering if this is among his oddities or if other cat owners find that their cat likes to have their tummy rubbed/scratched?
I've been a foster for cats and cat owner my whole life and none of the cats have liked their stomach touched. This is a small sample of about 50 cats.

Angel LOVES her belly rubbed. She lets me rub from front to back. She's so greedy for belly rubs that if I stop too soon, she pulls my hand back for more. Pumpkin enjoys them when she wants them, but ONLY when she wants them. The two boys, Sammy and Samson, not big fans of the belly rub. Oh well, 2 out 4, not too bad!
