Can you use slippery elm at the same time you're using Famotidine?
I'd like to get my kitty off the Famotidine.
He used to have diabetes until surgery earlier this year for an adrenal tumor.
The maintenance drug (Kinavet) caused a problem, so his primary care vet stopped that med after 2 months, and recommended a restricted died. c/d caused loose stools. Dave's Restricted is non-Rx but he(the co) couldn't answer simple questions including why there was dark residue at the bottom of the cans. I slowly introduced Royal Canin Renal morsels, and he had trouble with that from the start. Vet just started him on Famotidine for a week, and he's just fully switched to RC. He also has a sensitivity toward fish, and there's fish oil in RC.
The vet that does laser acupuncture (for arthritis, digestive) just recommended SEB.
I'm also filling out an app for a veterinary nutritionist consult; since I'm planning to make my own cat food for him asap.
Anyone have any recommendations on which schools are better? Looking at Cornell and VA.
Thanks. for any and all input.

I took my cat off famotidine when I started her on SEB. Her problems are not the same as your cat's, though I am glad you are looking into home prepared food rather than anything commercial. The SEB is soothing, coating (mucilage) and anti inflammatory.

Eventually I discovered by trial and error that she did not need an acid blocker, what she needed was a way to produce more acid because she wasn't digesting her food properly. So she now gets a drop of ACV (Bragg's brand, raw, organinc, with the mother) in three of her many servings, including the meal with SEB.

She is also taking probiotics.
