Yes Yes Yes. My kitty has TWO chips. A USA one (not universal) and a second one that I had to get before I took her to Europe. There is no excuse not to do it...
I am from Europe ...might be good to get the „international“ one. We do t plan to move but who knows :-)
All of my indoor only cats have been chipped, and I wouldn't have it any other way. They've been chipped at free chip clinics, but the Humane Society only charges $15, and it's well worth it. Vets charge more.
My little buddy got microchipped today. It hurt a bit, but I hope he has already forgotten about it.
