For our cat, the best cats toys seem to be any loose item (bottle cap, screw, marble) that she finds on the floor. She doesn't seem to fancy any of the store-bought toys.

Ours have always liked milk jug rings, chains made of intertwined pony tail holders, and after daughter came home from a school trip we discovered they absolutely will play with any rabbit fur covered knick knacky doodad from a souvenir shop, whether you want them to or not!

Nimbus went bonkers over a crouton that my husband had dropped on the kitchen floor, last night.

The best cat toys are completely spontaneous.

My 4 seem to be tired of everything. They seldom play and I have one of those feather things on a stick. They swat it a minute or two and wander off. Now if a live mouse is caught in their outdoor enclosure, Callie will play with it for hours on end. Moths are chased by all of them. Live moths are the only thing none have tired of. As the months pass they're all becoming less and less active.
