Somewhere in my house I have about 35 toy mice and catnip balls....when I move the couches, I find them. My couches are SO heavy and awkward, I do not move them often. It's just easier to buy another pack of toy mice.
Ditto! Only my kitty loses her ping-pong balls under the fridge. When someone younger and more flexible visits, I always ask him or her to take a wooden yardstick and clean the balls out from under there.
I have mostly older friends, so sometimes it's a long time between visits, and I end up buying more toys.
We once had a cat who would steal the pen we had on the counter for writing messages, the grocery list, etc. I would put out another pen and that, too would disappear. We went through EVERY pen we owned and went to pencils and they also disappeared. I knew the cat was doing something with them but couldn't find them. I was talking to someone at work about it and they asked me, "Did you look under the refrigerator?" The light bulb went off. Of course. The refrige was opposite the counter. When I got home, I looked under and there was EVERY pen & pencil he stole.
