Meet Tigger!
She was approximately 5 weeks old when I found her crying in the street at 2am on a Friday morning. It was actually a little strange for me to be up at that time but I've suffered bouts of insomnia all of my life. Thank God I was awake!
As you can see she was banged up quite a bit. After a few xrays, it was discovered that she had a double fractured hip, a broken thigh bone, and also an upper respiratory infection which moved to her eyes, sealing one shut. A bad start for such a little thing. (only 1.2lbs)
Our vet (Dr Sullivan- Bay Cities Pet Hospital in Torrance, CA (HE IS AWESOME!)) felt he could correct the leg with pins and was going to perform surgery the following Monday. We were praying all would go well for her (as well as my wallet)
WE dropped her off early Monday morning and got a call that afternoon from the Doctor who was VERY excited. He could barely contain himself. These broken bones:
had miraculously re-aligned!!!
He exclaimed "we do not need to operate", and put her on pain meds and antibiotics, with express orders to keep her in jail for a few weeks.
two weeks later:
a month later:
Now and with the soft cast off for more than a month
Now at 4lbs, with no limp, and no pain... she has become the little terrorist of the house. This is how she looks after 2-3 hours of playing (more like attacking) with the bigger cats. We and they are glad to have her.
Very great job! Can't speak enough of how nice & amazing you are to do this. Very few good stories re animals nowadays but this is an A+ one.
She is utterly too cute!
thank you so much... she is a gorgeous cat (they all are)
I can always use extra blessings
As a side note. One of the first things I did (when I knew she was going in for a 50/50 surgery that even the vet wasn't sure she could survive) was to post her story in my facebook and paid to get it in front of as many people as possible that weekend. Nearly 20,000 people read it and I firmly believe in the power of intention. That if enough people agree on something they can change events.
20,000 people hoping, wishing, and yes praying she'd be okay had to have something to do with her little bones re-aligning.
This is the kind of news I love to wake up hearing. They should put more stories like this on the boob tube.
Best wishes for you and your darling kitten
