I went away for a week and a half. Had a cat sitter daily. Donald would only come out for a treat but then would hide behind the bed. Rest of the time he had the run of the house. When we came back yesterday he was really talkative, obviously showing his disapproval. We had another cat until a few months ago. We thought he would be happier by himself. Maybe not?

Electra does that all the time. We go away for extended periods of time and every time we come back, she won't shut off for about 3 days straight. I'm surprised that she has a voice left at the end of 3 days. What is really funny is she will be sleeping and she starts talking in her sleep and wakes herself up.

And yes, we do have a catsitter. She doesn't say a word to him.

Our middle cat hisses at our cat sitter (whom we've used for years), but when we come back she badly wants attention.

Did your cat do this when you had the other cat? If not, he may be missing a buddy.
