We are looking to buy some cat furniture (towers, etc.) for our living room. Years ago, we bought some very nice items from Angelical Cats, but they don't seem to have an internet presence any more. We especially like items that have wooden tree trunks (or thick branches?), because our cats like to scratch the daylights out of them (and not the furniture). But all of our items are in sad shape now, after years of use.

Anyone have any suggestions for where to buy some good quality cat furniture? I just looked at the Wayfair site. They have some nice ones, but nothing with wooden trunks built in. I'm willing to consider other styles, if you have had good luck with them. Thanks!

There's a guy who has built these kind of cat trees for many years in Madison WI. They all use fallen trees and are lovely. He sells in several pet stores, but doesn't ship, so not sure if that is helpful to you: Exotic Cat Jungles - Home Page - Madison Wisconsin

Perhaps a pet store would be willing to arrange shipping?

Wow, those are nice cat trees. But it says absolutely no shipping, so I can do is admire from afar!

I bought one on Amazon.com. pricy but my cat loves it. Poles are wrapped in a raw rope. Excellent scratching surface.

Agree that rope is a great scratching surface and my cats like it. But even with lots of rope-based scratching posts available, they still go for the wooden (human) furniture. They seem to love the cat trees that have actual trees in them. Maybe they all think they are jaguars or panthers.

Regina is very possessive of her scratching post. If I walk by and scratch the post she will come flying across the room to protect it. It comes in handy when I need to have her come to me.

I just got this one at Petco that you might like: You & Me Cat Multi-Level Play Center | Petco Store . It has all wood scratching/climbing posts - just the hideaway spots and nesting shelves are carpeted.

So far it's a hit. It seems very stable even standing on carpet. And the 2 cats climbed all over it immediately.

It's just a little bit shorter than I had tried to find (54" - I like them about 60" high).

And it's too early to tell how it will wear.

But if you're looking for wooden legs instead of carpet or sisal wrapped, it might be a good option for you.

I highly recommend the brand Armarkat. Their products have stood up so much better than other brands.

Thank you! I will definitely check that out at Petco.

A big cat scratching post or tower would be enough.
