Most of my life I've had balsam cut trees. Then I switched to a fake tree.

Well.. Lily had ignored the real trees.. but thought the fake tree was great for chewing and flossing her teeth.
So out it went.

I'm back to balsam cut trees. My current gang of 4 are interested when I bring it in the house to put it in the stand. Once in the stand, they don't care.

Once decorated there are a couple of ornaments which strike their fancy, but I put them higher up where they can't be touched.

Even my "tree cat", Bennie, hasn't yet climbed the tree. This will be his third Christmas.

No ribbon or tinsel is allowed. I use only satin bows I make myself.

Sadly, we haven't had a tree in like 15 years. The cats would climb it, knock the ornaments off, eat the needles and tinsel, then throw it up. Ugh.

I did have cats previously that would climb up in the tree and knock all the ornaments off. The cat I rescued 6 weeks ago won't even play with toys so it will be interesting to see what she does what I put the tree up this year.
