While you're alive or if you died? Are you talking one cat or numerous? I assume if someone died in their home and nobody found them the cat(s) might resort to eating its owner but I seriously doubt it would try to kill and eat you even if it was starving.

Why are you asking?

The way it works is the cat meows a lot at the owner demanding his or her Tender Vittles...

The owner would be forced to go to the store and buy some. There is no other option if the owner is present and the cat was also present.

If a cat is hungry and able to go outside he or she might catch a mouse, because they are bite sized...Owners are not usually so easy to catch. They are too big and cumbersome.

I do agree that if there was a dead body and the cat was locked inside, it might have a Donner party.

Every morning, one of my cats tries to kill me. As I descend the stairs, she always weaves her body in between my feet. I am certain it's because she wants me to trip and fall, so she can then consume me.

Either that, or she's so excited because she knows a can is being opened in minutes for her.

If a cat is hungry it will not try to kill a human.

It depends on the size of the cat.

HaHaHa - I guess if you had a pet lion or tiger you best be careful. :-)

I think she knows that if she killed me, I'd no longer be around to limit her morning breakfast to 1/2 can of food, and she'd have unlimited meat to chew on for a while....

No one said she's thinking long term about what would happen after she'd consumed me. She just wants immediate gratification.

Mine tries to trip me on the stairs too. One of these days she might succeed and I won't really care if she eats me (after I'm dead).
