The new automatic cat litter machine terrified my little Gracie that she ran to me in bed, got under covers and promptly peed on the bottom sheet etc.
I had left it turned off the first few days but apparently that was no help.
Immediately sprayed the mattress with Nature's Miracle spray designed for just this type of issues, but not sure it will keep odor at bay. No way to really clean.
Any ideas or suggestions??? Or time for a new mattress??
You would have to try sleeping somewhere for a day or two, but you could try SOAKING it with Nature's Miracle. Like, pour on the whole bottle. Let it seep down in there and let it dry slowly.
Otherwise, it's likely time for a new mattress. :-(

Help
I'll throw out the obvious one; get rid of the automatic litter machine.
Soak the mattress, let it dry, and flip it over until you are ready to get a new one.
This is part of why I have never tried an automatic litter box. I love the idea, but I have heard they can be problematic. If it scared her that badly once, forget it, she's probably not going to use it again.
If you buy a new mattress, definitely get one of those protectors. They aren't expensive and you can save a bundle on a new mattress. This is the one I bought when I bought my mattress a few months ago. I have no complaints. People don't like these because of a crinkle noise. But this one doesn't crinkle and you don't even know it's there. I haven't tested the water proofness of pee because I don't pee the bed. But I can attest that fluids don't seep through A little over 20 bucks for the peace of mind that your mattress is safe.
