Oscar showed up about three weeks ago. Pretty small thing with lots of grey fur and bright yellow eyes. Izzi's mom or a previous litter?
Put dry food out. A box home with bedding. Late morning and early evening and 1-2 cups. Two days ago Oscar decided to "sing the songs of her people" as Catdad calls it. She wanted to come inside rather forcefully. SO added food to the front porch plate. All three in house cats went ... .
She took a long bath yesterday in the sun (front patio is wind still and that in OK).
Today it is 2F. Wind factor and it is simply miserably. Well, she showed up, did not cooperate to getting petted with leather gloves but wet food lured her in.

I have never done this before. No - we cannot have four.

It was a bumpy ride to the city animal shelter. Please - I do not ever want to end up there!!! Grumpy 101! Called the folks who foster/Petco - Oscar should be out of prison tomorrow.
s

I had to sign an affidavit that I did not steal/remove an animal, ... with a 90 day disclaimer including DL nmber.

Glad you managed to get her someplace out of the weather. I hope things go well for her, and maybe even gets a home of her own soon. Bless you for caring and helping Oscar.

You do realize there's more lines to your poem............

No- we cannot have four

But... the purrs in your ear says

There's always room for one more

FWIW, I never imagined that we'd have four either, but Lucy showed up a year ago in the bitter cold. . .and the local shelter wouldn't take her. . .

I have to say though, she has turned out to be a great cat.

We had not planned on two to start with. And a non-tortie.
Logistics and budget (Izzi has passed the 750 mark)

Catdad - it was not an easy decision. Things are starting to settle down with Izzi. Both of us are working. It is around 750 for shots and spaying. The local shelter is not a nice place. Local "friends" will get that one adopted and there will be no little ones from a little one.

Oh I know, and I wasn't criticizing your decision at all. I'm at a point where I can take in no more as well, so I completely understand. Even so, you managed to improve Oscar's chances considerably, so good for you.

My little poem was just poking a little fun at all of us that have a hard time resisting those little furballs.

Apparently your home is known to the stray cats in the area. Hey, go over to Izzi's new digs, her person will feed you and take care of you. Maybe you will be getting another visitor soon.

Don't feel bad about Oscar, you have your hands full already. He will probably find a new home through the shelter.

Good news! I spoke with the Friends of the Shelter and Oscarette is doing very well. Lived with a foster family, is a loving and pleasant feline and will hopefully be adopted by this week end. Please cross fingers for one more furry having a forever home, shelter, food, care and love!
