There came a time when paper grocery sacks became non-existent, and the only store in town still using paper was the local Braum's. We started buying a few things from them very month just so Rainbow would get her paper sack fix.

Maya won't go near bags. Not since the night she got a paper bag's handle stuck around her neck. I've never seen a cat run so fast in my life. Was tough to catch her to get it off. Since then, if she hears a bag crinkle, she's running out of the room.

Our boy Rusty somehow got a plastic grocery bag caught around his neck. By the time we caught him he had peed in said bag. I've also witnessed the crazed cat run. It is definitely unforgettable. Still talking about it 12 years later.

Yes indeed. We learned early on to snip those handles off. Rainbow never got caught in one (that we know of), but one or two of the other cats did before we started removing them.

That happened the first week we had our current cat with a paper grocery bag. She knocked over a plant and stand that broke, a lamp and stuff in kitchen counter. I don't think I had ever seen anything move as fast. I had to tackle her and lay on her to extract from bag handle....
She did get over her fear. We always cut handles before she get them. Her favorite is the large Kentucky Fried Chicken bags, loves the scent.
