Most here know Izzi's story. She is part Coon part road warrior. According to our vet she would never reach 10 pounds.
How do you know she's part Maine Coon? Just curious. Did one of her parent or proven grandparents have papers?

If you read my posts in Kitten and in your thread - she showed up but forget to bring her paperwork. You seem so hung up on papers. There are so many fake ones out there and so many cats attached to them. All of our furries are and were throw aways.

Voice, behavior, fur, built, ears, ... and three experienced vets.

Cat people, please agree not to nitpick about trivial matters. We are here to discuss cats and to help
each other with problems we might be having with our furry friends.

There is no need to argue about these matters . We are on this forum to assist each other .

Thanks.

Not at all "hung up on papers" here. Just wondering about something. There was nothing in this thread that said anything about how you got her, btw.

I posted here hoping to eventually connect with other Maine Coon owners, but I can see that's not going to happen, so please feel free to close this thread.

Here is my boy. No papers...rescue...but you cannot find one more Maine Coon. About 13 lbs so not huge. But very much smart dog behavior. Comes when called. Follows instructions. Knows how to open doors and such.

When we got him he was the most matted cat in the world. Did not have a hair not in a mat. Took two days to find a groomer who would clean him up without shaving him.

Patrols the property a couple of times a day often in company of the dog. Does not however leave the property except perhaps chasing another cat. He is clearly the boss cat in the area.

Metlakatla, we had to take our Twinkie to the vet in early December. Thankfully, a very informed Dr., he knew right away Twinks was part Maine Coon. I'm glad he told us, I would not have known this, having no experience with them.
Twinkie will be 4 May 1st, and although living outdoors and burning a lot of calories, he weighs 15 lbs.

I hope you find a vet as competent as we have. (His wife is the receptionist and has 9 cats!)

Our 14 lbs Maine Coon Mix / forest cat / longhair (he is very fluffy and looks like a lion with his hair , around the neck, was listed by two vets as “domestic shorthair” on their record. I was amazed how much (or less) some of them care or maybe they are just not educated about cat breeds. Another vet also stated once “oh, this cat has huge paws”. I swore to myself she is ok for something quick and easy but for serious issues we go somewhere else.
