When Jinx was diagnosed CKD in December, we thought that we'd be fortunate to have around a few weeks at best. In fact, he was doing so poorly at one point in late December, we almost said goodbye to him.
However, my daughter wanted to give him one more chance and bring him home. The vet suggested SubQ fluids. And with that and advice from the Feline Chronic Kidney Disease Facebook Group, Jinx enjoyed a very healthy and happy three-plus months.
Unfortunately, it was multiple bacterial infections that he could not fight off. He began showing signs of respiratory distress in April and it only worsened. And the one drug that showed positive results against his cultures was also renal toxic. We decided to give it one more try last week but it just wasn't to be.
Jinx, you fought very hard over the last few months. Now you can rest easy. February 18th, 2005 - May 29th, 2019.
To those that offered advice, thoughts, well-wishes, and prayers, THANK YOU ALL!
Oh no. I am so very deeply saddened to hear this. May Jinx RIP forever in his new home at Rainbow Bridge. Please take care of yourself too, Mad_Jasper, & realize you WILL see Jinx again forever in the afterlife.
He is absolutely gorgeous too. So sad to lose him this way.
I'm sorry for your loss, but at the same time, well done that you gave him that additional time. What a handsome cat. You took the best care of him that anyone could.
