Im new to City Data forum. I want to participate in threads where we post cat pictures and videos but I do not see anything that would allow me to embed a video in my post or attach pictures. I see that other people are able to though. Can someone help me?
I read somewhere on the other threads that apparently the format for Youtube links have changed on here and they suggested posting in this format: [youtube]last part of the youtube URL[youtube].NO SPACES. That comment was posted in October 2012 though but I will try that below.

As I said previously, the format suggested on the post I saw from 2012 said that when you want to post Youtube links, use the format (WITH NO SPACES) . For anyone wondering which part of the URL to use, the URL for the video I posted is located HERE: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wQm5Lh8UF6s
The part that of the URL that I inserted in the code is "wQm5Lh8UF6s".

Just copy and paste the URL if it's a Youtube video and post the reply and it automatically converts it to an embedded video.
Yeah. I noticed that when I was previewing it that the Youtube URL worked too. It may not have worked for the original link I posted in my first test because thats the link Youtube gives you to embed it. They have different links to share it the regular way & customize the link for different social media platforms.
To post pictures from your computer open a reply box and click on the little paperclip up above. Then click browse to find the picture on your computer you want to attach. Choose the picture then click upload. Then submit the post.
